Hello, I'm Sandy from Fit 'n' Funky. As a single Mum of three, I know what it's like to juggle family, home and work and how little time that leaves for yourself and your health because I've been there.
I've had a long, successful career as a lead graphic designer for some very well known global firms and agencies. So, I know the impact stress has on our bodies and how difficult it can be to find time to look after yourself and your health.
I haven’t lived and breathed sport and fitness all my life, I stopped doing anything active during my 30's when my career took off, then I started my family.
I came to fitness when I hit rock bottom in my health after my twins were born and I'd gained weight through pregnancy and then suffered a slipped disc. It was hard to shift the weight and I hated my Mummy tummy and the way I looked and it depressed me that the clothes I used to love to wear didn’t fit me, I didn't recognise myself anymore.
Wind the clocks forward and now I'm in my 50s, the menopause hit me like a curveball, my hormones were all over the place! So, I started to exercise specifically for my age. My methods worked for me and I began to feel better, not just physically but mentally, and an added bonus was I looked better and I felt stronger and healthier than I had in my 20s or 30s.
Then I thought if I could do this for myself I could help others like me. I'm now qualified as a fitness instructor and Personal Trainer, but I like to think of myself as a transformational coach because that's what I do and I witness time and time again with my clients. I see their wonderful transformations into a new and improved version of themselves.
I'm on a mission to help as many women as I can transform themselves and get their spark back and I want you to feel like you again but a better version.
